Full Time | Monday-Friday| Occasional Weekends

Role Overview

Join our team as an Electrical Estimator and take the lead in shaping the success of our electrical construction projects.  In this critical role, you'll own the bidding process from start to finish - delivering accurate, timely and competitive proposals that drive results.

What You'll Do

  • Create Winning Estimates: Review drawings, specifications and site conditions to compile detailed project data.  Assess material quantities, labor hours, and equipment needs to develop precise, comprehensive quantity takeoffs.
  • Lead the Process: Organize and run pre-bid meetings, walkthroughs, and bid reviews; keeping deadlines and documentation on track.
  • Analyze and Solve: Tackle complex project challenges with smart, cost-effective solutions aligned with InServ's goals.
  • Price with Precision: Conduct detailed pricing analyses to ensure bids are competitive and profitable
  • Manage the Details: Track and organize all pre-bid documents, (drawings, specifications, addendums, RFIs, meeting minutes and more)
  • Build Partnerships: Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes, while maintaining strong supplier relationships
  • Support Success: Conduct post-award turnover meetings; assist Project Managers with evaluating large change orders.
  • Keep Us Current: Update estimating templates, worksheets and databases regularly; understand client-specific requirements impacting estimates 
  • Collaborate: Work closely with Business Development and Operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Technical Expertise 

  • Proficient in Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Estimation
  • Familiarity with system types: carbon steel, stainless steel, BPE tube, copper, PVC and Polypropylene.
  • Skilled in estimating software (Bluebeam), and advanced MS Excel, Word and Project.
  • Detailed knowledge of P&IDs, orthogonal/mechanical/electrical/architectural drawings and industry codes and  standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strategic mindset.

Educational and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience
  • 3-10+ years' experience in Electrical estimation. 
  • Commercial/Industrial construction experience required.

Reporting Structure

  • Reports to the Lead Estimator and collaborates with management, subcontractors, and client representatives.
